Should I try 2 make contact with my ex? Even when I know he has a girlfriend..?

So i met this guy 2 years ago at work, at first i wasn't attracted 2 him cause he was't my type. But as time went by i noticed he had such a great personality and that he liked me, so we became friends n he soon told me he was in a relationship with his high school sweet heart. Even with him telling me the truth only made me want him more cause he was honest with me. So I decided 2 see him just for fun not realizing that I was gonna fall so deep InLove with him. Everything happen so fast he soon asked me 2 run away so we can elope but I said no cause I had responsibility. I didn't expect 4 it 2 be like that but I was in to deep n every time I tried ending it he would beg me not to end it. I know he Loved me n I believe he still cares 4 me cuz afta 8 months he made a myspace just so he can write to me n said how he was mad that I was seeing sum1 else but yet he still was with his girlfriend. So now I've been wanting to contact him like he did me cuz I still Love him n I can't help but to think of that what if...So should I try to make contact even with him still being with his girlfriend? Pls help me...
