How did you know when your marriage was over?

My marriage was over when I was asked to choose between my daughter or him. I could never force one of my children to be homeless or move out just because my husband said so... he said when you graduates high school within one month she moves out or I file for divorce. She is still in college for her teaching degree for special needs students and she still knows she is welcome home any time.
